About Alpha Dog K9 Training

My name is Christina (Taddei) Rossetti, and I have been training dogs professionally here in Massachusetts since 1998. I am a certified dog trainer, a professional member of the International Association of Canine Professionals, the National Association of Police Working Dogs, and am an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.

I started Alpha Dog K9 Training in March of 2003 to bring quality dog training to people in their homes. I had been working in the training field and noticed that my customers were telling me that their dog was great at the training facility, but less than perfect at home. Since then, we have grown, and although we still offer in home training, we also have a two room training facility located at 4 Main Street in Medway, MA.

I believe that things you teach your pet dog should have a practical application for his life and yours, like waiting when a door is opened~even the car door~or being able to pay attention to you and you alone on a crowded or noisy street or in an unfamiliar place. Coming when called and not jumping on people or surfaces is also a safety issue and extremely important. These easily taught basic behaviors are the difference between a dog that is a joy and a dog that is a constant worry to his or her people.

At Alpha Dog, we employ all methods of training, from clickers and toys to martingales and slip collars to prong collars and e-collars, often combining methods to facilitate the learning process. Our goal is to facilitate the bonding process and get your dog to want to work for you. If training isn’t fun, neither of you will want to do it!

At our first meeting of obedience training a learning plan is formulated by the trainer and the client, combining basic obedience skills with your goals (i.e.: no jumping, nipping, accidents in the house, etc.). In other words, practical applications for obedience training. We feel that building the new skills that you both will learn into your dog’s life is the very best practice no matter what your dog’s age.  Your trainer will assist you in thinking up new and creative ways to break old habits and form new ones.

We offer a wide variety of training programs, from group and individual puppy kindergarten classes to basic and advanced obedience, recall classes, retrieve training, NoseWork classes and AKC Canine Good Citizen certifications.  Take a look at our current offerings!

Classes are available in your home or at our facility in Medway, MA.
